Buenas tardes, ¡Happy Campers!
This next pit-stop on the rainbow road had us camped out in Charlotte, NC for Cinco De Mayo! Plaza Midwood played host to the lively street festival; the sounds of Mariachi, Mexican Cubimo, Latinx Reggae, & so much more filtered through the air and into the souls* of everyone’s feet – even we couldn’t resist tapping along to the beat!
The food vendors were one of our favorites! There were tacos, beer, and margaritas ‘round every corner; the sights and scents of traditional Mexican cooking had our mouth’s watering! Of course you know we sampled.
They even had fun for the kiddos! An el kisosko, which is a pinata and maraca making station, provided traditional crafts and fun activities where kids could listen to songs and storytelling. The sense of home and community were permeable; it was great to see everyone of all ages enjoying themselves!
Contributing to this festival meant a lot to us; we felt privileged to take part in traditional Mexican culture! We got to learn a little, live a little, and teach a little about our favorite green plant and all the benefits it has to offer! Our spread of locally sourced gummies, blunts, and pre-rolls were a total vibe – it isn’t always about getting high- even though we’re pretty big fans of that trip to the skies. Users of hemp promote its therapeutic and holistic properties, too! For more information on just how good the green ganj can be for your health, check out our Info series on The Happy Camper Journal!
